A NEW NIGERIA

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18 & 19
Hello Brethren, I welcome you with excitement to the seventh month of this jubilee prayer. I am excited because it is the beginning of the last trimester and because of the significance of the number "seven" in biblical terms.
Seven denotes spiritual perfection; it is the hall-mark of the Holy Spirit's work. Therefore, as we pray this month, we are asking the Holy Spirit to perfect His work in Nigeria.

Seven is the number which regulates every period of incubation and gestation, in insects, birds, animals and man. Although eight is the number for new beginning, as we pray this month, we are setting a standard to regulate the formation of a new Nigeria. This standard is the spiritual perfection that will bring true jubilee to Nigeria.

Amazingly, the seventh month of pregnancy is also vey important because it is (usually)the month that the baby begins to start turning heads down; in other words, the baby begins to position himself/herself ready for the day of birth. In Hebrews 8, God spoke of making a new covenant with His people, and in verse 13 the Bible says: "When God speaks of a new [covenant or agreement], He makes the first one obsolete (out of use). And what is obsolete (out of use and annulled because of age) is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether".(Amplified Bible) In the same manner, when the Holy Spirit is talking about a new Nigeria, that means the present one (the systems) is rendered obsolete and ripe for disappearance. The present darkness that clouds our nation, the present curses that enslave us, the lack of peace and security, the lack of truth and justice, the condition of our government, the condition of our churches, the condition of our schools and our economy, the entire situations that bring sadness to our hearts when we think of our beloved nation - all these will be rendered obsolete if we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work to the uttermost.

For a new Nigeria to emerge, some systems will have to be abolished, whether we like it or not, some people will have to die. Some will become nothing to reckon with in the society even though they will still be living. God's principle has always been that new wine cannot be poured into old bottles (wine skins), I therefore declare unto you that our season of new wine is here, therefore our old bottles are ripe for disappearance. 　 　

Prayer Points

1. Let us worship the Lord for His perfection. He is perfect in all His ways and whatever He does is perfect (Ecc.3:14). Please worship Him for who He is and worship as King over Nigeria. (The Holy Spirit spoke to me personally about this particular prayer of worship that I should not just consider it a usual opening prayer or a warming up prayer point. He really wants us to worship the Lord in light of the theme of this month's prayer. Worship is a powerful weapon of intercession.)
2. For every prayer burden that we have carried to God in the past six months, let us pray that in this seventh month that symbolizes divine perfection, the zeal of the Lord will perform and perfect them all. Forgiveness of our sins Deliverance of our nation Jubilee for the church Putting the government upon His shoulder The gospel of the kingdom (Change agents and nation reformers) Connecting Nigeria with her destiny.
3. It is the season of getting rid of the old bottles! Let us pray and ask God to visit our nation; every picture that you now see that makes a new Nigeria looks impossible, is an old bottle that must be disposed. Therefore, let us pray and ask God to get rid of such system and situation of hopelessness, backwardness and shame. Ask Him to uproot ANYONE or ANYTHING that has positioned itself/himself/herself as an enemy of the progress and the destiny of the nation.
4. Let us decree God's judgment upon every proverbial Pharaoh and Herod of Nigeria. They are ripe for disappearance, pray that God will visit them accordingly and render them obsolete in the course of rebuilding the nation.
5. In Jeremiah 18:4,the vessel of clay in the potter's hand was marred so he made it into another vessel. In the same manner, let us pray that God will work upon Nigeria, break it down (although that may be hard on some people) and build it according to His own pattern.
6. Humanly speaking, it looks impossible for Nigeria to rise again and shine. But this is never going to be done by any man or any organization, it is the work of the Holy Spirit. When Mary received the word of the Lord through the angel, it looked impossible to her, but when she asked for clarification, the angel said; "the Holy Ghost shall come upon you and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you". This is exactly what will bring about a new Nigeria. Let us ask the Holy Ghost to come upon Nigeria and the Power of the Most High to overshadow her and bring about the birth of a new nation for the glory of God.
7. Another interesting thing about a baby during the seventh month of pregnancy is that she can hear the voice of the mother and others that are close by. You and I are now seven months pregnant with a vision, the vision can now hear us when we speak (hallelujah!), we are therefore going to decree the word of the Lord over the vision (the new Nigeria) I cannot limit you at this point, so please declare as much as the Holy Spirit will give you utterance.( Nigeria, we dedicate you to the Lord Jesus, Him only shall you serve! Your glory shall shine and peace shall be your portion! You shall not serve your enemies anymore! You shall be the head and not the tail! You shall flourish like the palm tree! Violence shall no longer be heard in your land! etc.)
8. In the seventh month of pregnancy, the baby can also detect light and dark, especially the extremes. Let us pray and decree divine discernment upon Nigeria in this month of perfection, to differentiate clearly between light and darkness. As the eyes of the nation open, let us also decree a divine separation between Nigeria and every alliance of darkness, for Nigeria to enter into her jubilee.
9. Our selected scripture for this month shows that God Himself is ready to do a new thing. He told us to forget the past and not to dwell on the events of long ago. He is going to do something new and NOW, it shall bring forth. Another scripture says, "And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new".(Rev.21:5). In the seventh month of pregnancy, the baby turns to position herself ready for birth. Please pray and tell God that we accept His word of promise for Nigeria and therefore we pray that His mighty hand will TURN Nigeria to position her correctly for the springing forth of this New Nigeria that He is about to bring forth.
10. Finally, please take some time to pray in tongues over Nigeria, the Bible encourages us to pray both in understanding and in the Spirit. The mysteries of the Holy Spirit are very great.
