Jubilee Prayer - 5th Month

Propagating the Gospel of the Kingdom

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion...(Gen. 1:28)

Hello Brethren,
I welcome you again to the fifth month of this jubilee prayer and I hope you are feeling pregnant already! I want to you to know that this assignment is rewarding because our God is forever rich toward all that call upon Him. Moreover, He has a plan and I am extremely glad that you and I are part of it.

This month by the grace of God, we will be praying for "change agents", "nation disciplers", "a mix of anointings" from all the sectors of the society to overcome evil and corruption in our nation.

Prior to commencing this project, I was directed to read a book titled " The Reformation Manifesto". Knowing that I share a lot of views with the author about her "exposition of the word of God", I knew then that God was about to show me some things that relate to this jubilee project and I was right. In the book, I discovered something powerful, which is called "the gospel of the kingdom" and this is what our prayer for this month centers on. I understand that this a prayer forum and not a teaching forum, but please permit me to shed more light on this issue because it will help us to understand the prayer and pray beyond the few prayer points that will be posted.

Over the years, we have interpreted Matt 24:14 to mean that salvation will be preached to everyone and then the end will come. While the preaching of salvation is important, I have come to understand that this verse actually talked about something different (or something bigger, that is not just limited to the salvation of individual souls). God is not just interested in the transformation of individuals, He is also interested in the transformation of kingdoms. In other words, it is not so much about answered altar calls as it is about inducting people into a new government. He actually taught us to pray that "His kingdom come, and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven". When we concentrate on winning individual souls, it is like we are only focused on the church and the church eventually becomes an isolation from the entire system of the nation. To put it in the western term, it is the acceptance of the separation of church and state. However, in God's own perspective, there is no separation between the church and the state because when you break God's law, creation breaks down and societies do too.

God is looking for a society where crime, violence, injustice, bribery and corruption are rare , God is looking for a school system where the poor does not get disqualified because of lack of financial ability, where students are rewarded based on merit, not based on who you know or how often you are willing to sell your body. God is looking for law enforcement workers, who will do the right thing and operate in the fear of God. God is looking for lawyers and judges, who will uphold the truth and nothing but the truth, God is looking for people in government who will submit to God's law and be ready to serve rather than being served. God is looking for business men and women, who can show the world that it is the blessing of God that makes one rich, not cheating or embezzling. I was excited when I watched Bro Gbile's tapes this year (MLR 2009) to discover that he preached the same message about the gospel of the kingdom and challenged the people to go back to their various vocations and flow as river that will affect everything around them.

Our selected scripture for the month shows that this is God's original plan for us and I wish to let you know that this did not change when man fell in the beginning. We are to be fruitful and multiply, we are to fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion. God wants christians to fill every sector of the society, but He does not just want us to fill it, He wants us to rule and dominate it. In other words, He wants christians to be in position of power where they can make godly decisions and live by example. This is the way to experience change and societal reformation, this is the path that will lead us into jubilee and that is why we are praying this month. We will be filling every sector of our nation with ''this knowledge of the Lord" as the water covers the sea.

Prayer Points
1. Pray that God will open the eyes of every christian to this gospel of the kingdom and the commandment to fill the earth and subdue it.
2. Pray that God will ignite in every heart the passion for righteousness and the grace to stand up for God beyond the walls of the church.
3. Before we decree righteousness into all these sectors of the society (my friend, the author calls them gates or mountains of societal influence), let us break all tyrannies of sin and uproot every spirit that prospers in unrighteousness in these sectors. Here is a list of the major gates/sectors, you may add as many as you can remember.

The Government
The legal system (judges, lawyers, etc)
The Law Enforcement Agencies (The police, lawmakers, etc)
Education (teachers, lecturers, chancellors, those who design/decide school curriculum, etc)
Media and Communication (journalists, etc)
Arts and Entertainment
Business (all kinds of business -small or large scale)
The Workforce (Includes all offices run either by government or private owners.)
4. Now, let us pray (with passion) and prophesy into all these gates (including the ones that you have added) that they shall be filled with reformers, nation disciplers, carriers of God's anointing and representatives of His righteousness. Those who will begin to arise and fulfill the mandate to be fruitful, multiply, subdue (unrighteousness) and have dominion. Pray that God will make you one too!

5. As Jesus taught us to pray, let us decree in conclusion that His kingdom come and His will be done in Nigeria.
